EFire Win Wymondham Abbey Contract

Posted 01/02/2017

We are proud to announce that we have recently won a contact to install and service the fire protection systems at another one of the UK's top historic sites.

The Wymondham Abbey is a Norman church, dating back to 1107, and is open every day for worship. The location is also a living history resource for schools, and a venue for exhibitions/concerts.

E-Fire have been given the task of installing an E-Fire CTec ZFP 2-loop touch screen fire panel, that connects to a range of detectors also installed by us. In addition, call points are being introduced to protect all who visit and work at the church.

Interfaced to the fire alarm loop is a Signifire system providing smoke, flame and intrusion video detection in the main building. A Vesda air sampling product from is also in use in the ancient bell tower and organ loft.

Kevin Sparkes, Systems Manager at E-Fire, said: “Wymondham Abbey is one of the finest buildings in East Anglia and we were delighted to be awarded the contract to install the life-safety systems as a result of lottery funding for the new extension. The E-Fire CTec ZFP system was specified as it is powerful, easy-to-program and, crucially, of a modular nature so it can be easily expanded should the Abbey undergo further expansion.”
